The heart of BUiLD

We love our church family and the community of Hamilton of which we are a part. Our heart is to share God’s love and to see lives transformed for the better and lived to the full. We believe a redeveloped building is a great way to help see this happen.

The project's vision is rooted in scripture, drawing inspiration from Nehemiah 2:18: "let us rise and build...". Our priority is to provide a safe, welcoming space that is set up for the growth of our church family and to enhance our impact in the local community with the love of Jesus.

The need for BUiLD

The BUiLD project aims to repair some current structural issues within the building, and expand our facilities to make them fit for purpose. Specifically, the project addresses three key areas:

  • This includes replacing two walls, addressing an unsafe balcony, and ensuring foundations meet requirements. The goal is to rebuild the back section of the church to code and ensure spaces have safe entry/exit.

  • The project will look at the best ways to utilise our spaces, creating a bigger, open, inviting and more accessible welcoming area, along with comfortable, dedicated spaces for fellowship and conversation, as the current setup doesn't allow for the best welcome or first impression.

  • This involves creating new purpose-built and flexible spaces that can adapt for growing ministries, including dedicated, safe spaces for children's ministries, a bigger platform in the main sanctuary to accommodate growing worship ministry and HBC Kids activity, and addressing the lack of storage and meeting/function rooms.

Ultimately, the BUiLD project gives us the opportunity to continue the work the founders of HBC started, aiming to "BUiLD our building, and BUiLD each other up in the knowledge of the God we serve".
