The Junior Christian Endeavour is a Christ centred, church based organisation offering an action packed programme for children from the age of seven to thirteen. Its motto is "For Christ and the Church" and its aims are to lead children and young people to the Lord Jesus Christ, and then to train them to serve Him within their local church.
Christian Endeavour is international and interdenominational and its members are given the opportunity to meet Endeavourers from other areas at camp and the annual convention. The children and young people are encouraged to lead their own weekly meeting, which includes Bible stories, singing, chain prayer, drama and much more. Their is also the opportunity to participate in the CE Award Scheme.
CE meets on a Monday evening between 6.15 and 7.15 from September to May. Teen CE for those 13 years and above also meet at this time in the commitee room.
New members are always welcome. |

Exodus reaches out to the children of the Hillhouse area. There are two age groups, 5-9 year olds who meet on Mondays and Thursdays, 6.45 - 7.30 pm, and 10-15 year olds who meet Mondays, 7.45 - 9 pm. The children are able to do crafts, table football and hockey, computer games, and learn about Christ’s love and purpose for them through cartoons (Friends and Heroes) and acting-out scenes.
We discuss with the children events in every-day life while giving a viewpoint taken from the Bible through a new or old testament story. We organise special events including the October holiday club, the Christmas pantomime, Easter club and the summer fun evening.
At the moment we have around 12 children of the younger age group and 6 children of the older age group. We hope to merge the older group with the Youth Fellowship evenings on Saturdays at the church building, and are encouraged by the commitment two children have made to Christ.
The folk that help out are: June Brown, William Thomson, Mary Buchanan, Stuart Love, Arlene Neil, Christine Stewart, Ian and Trish Thomson, Scott Wallace, Chris van der Walle and Heather Darling. Exodus forms part of the missionary work of Hamilton Baptist and we are mindful of your prayers of support and practical help.
Please contact Chris van der Walle & June Brown for more information.

We have been running a very successful October Holiday Club for children for over 10 years.
For 2010 we are considering widening the age-group of the various activities, but intend to still run events for children.
So, when you are planning your holiday arrangements for 2010, ask yourself the following questions:-
How do you normally spend your school October week holiday?
Are you aged 4-11 (P1-P7) or do you have children in this age group?
Why not come and join us at Hamilton Baptist Church for a fun-filled, action packed week?
We run a Holiday Club for 2 hours each day (Monday – Friday) and finish our fun on the Sunday morning by telling loads of other folk what a great week we have had !
We have loads of singing, games, crafts, bible teaching, creative ways of praying, etc
So why not plan to come along and join us this year….
See the News & Events Section on our website for more details of this year's event once they are available… |

The 2 Ways Group is for everyone in S1 to S6. We meet during the Sunday morning service in the church flat (up the stairs next to the vestry). We are on every Sunday during term time with the exception of days when we have an All Age Service in church. Our aim is to look at issues which confront young people every day and to try to understand what the bible says about them and what our response should be to them.
For example, we have done a study based on Madonna – her lifestyle and lyrics. This led us to look at Materialism, Image, Family Relationships and Spirituality.
Our studies based on 2 TV and movie favourites, Friends and James Bond also led to interesting discussions about Selfishness, City Living, Threats and Thrills.
We recently looked at the 10 commandments and we had a really good time discussing their application to our lives in the 21st. Century! Is it OK to work on a Sunday? What does it mean to take God’s name in vain? Do we really have idols today? Is obeying your parents the same as honouring them?
If you are wondering why we are called ‘2 Ways Group’, it’s simple! We discovered early on that there are 2 distinct ways to live – God’s Way and the World’s Way.
Come along and find out which you choose. |
