Hamilton Churches Drop in Centre
Contact :- Sam Brown or Marion Quinn
We as a church take an active role, on a rotational basis along with other churches in the Hamilton area, in providing a valuable service to the homeless, destitute and disadvantaged. We provide practical help in the form of a freshly prepared cooked meal once a month, within the drop in centre at Beckford Street, Hamilton.
GriefShare
Our Pastor, Derek Hutchinson, and his wife Marion have been arranging some informal evenings for people who have experienced bereavement, using ‘GriefShare’ material. No matter how long it’s been since a loved one or friend has died, grief can make the holidays, for example, a painful experience. These evenings have included a helpful 40 minute video and also provided some written material designed to help folk find strength, healing and tools to move forward in the daily walk through the deep pain of grief. If you or someone you know would like to know about future events, please contact Marion through the website or phone the church phone number.
A new GriefShare session will start on Thursday 16th September 2010
Christianity Explored / Discipleship Explored
Christianity Explored is an informal way to investigate Christianity or just to brush up on the basics. The course explores who Jesus is, why He came and what it means to follow Him. We are planning to run courses regularly throughout the year. They usually begin at 7pm with a light meal and the video and discussion will finish by 9.30pm.
Discipleship Explored is a follow-on course with a similar format to Christianity Explored.
Please contact Ken Russell if you would like details of the next courses.
SoundRoutes Singers
Shona Brown, whose parents and grandparents have a long connection with HBC, has established three choirs (or one choir meeting in three places) and the Hamilton Group meets in HBC on Tuesday evenings from 8 to 9.30pm. See the SoundRoutes website for more details.
