Senior Pastor, Rev. Derek Hutchinson
Derek met Marion while both were attending Dundonald Baptist Church, Belfast. Marion was training as a nurse at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald. They married two years later by which time Derek was a student at the Irish Baptist College. Marion is from Belfast and came to know the Lord at the age of eight, through the influence of Sunday School teachers at Ballysillan Gospel Hall and her attendance with her family at Tennant Street Baptist Church. Derek and Marion have two sons and one daughter.
Associate Pastor, Rev. Graham Shearer
He is responsible for the care of our young adults and on Sundays you'll find him preaching at one of our services. He is married to Sarah and they have two daughters, Hannah and Abigail, and a son called Ethan. In his spare time he enjoys a game of football with some of the men in the church as well as the odd run on the roads. He also enjoys a good book and would recommend 'What kind of God?' by Michael Ots to anyone interested in understanding more of our Father God.
Youth Worker (Part-time from Sept 2010 to June 2011), Daniel McKinlay Daniel came to faith aged 17 after an upbringing in a nominal church. He studied and recently graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in Chemistry. Having felt the call into full time ministry during his time at university however, the Lord called him to study with the Cornhill Training Course Scotland, also where Graham and Sarah trained prior to coming to Hamilton. He is continuing his studies in expository preaching while working with the Youth at Hamilton. His one single passion for the youth at Hamilton is to see young adults grow in faith, love Jesus, escape hell and be saved. Daniel is also a keen reader and aside from scripture is a big fan of The Puritans and Tim Keller. In his ‘free’ time, Daniel can be found up a hill somewhere around Scotland or playing field hockey.

Derek was brought up in N. Ireland where his parents were members of the Baptist Church in Londonderry. He came to faith at the age of fifteen. He is a graduate of Queen's University, Belfast (Food Science) and worked with the Department of Agriculture in Dundonald prior to studying full time at the Irish Baptist College. He graduated from there in 1978 and from 1979 to 1983 he was Associate Pastor at Hamilton Road Baptist Church, Bangor and Pastor of their church plant in Ballycrochan until 1993. He was the Pastor of the Baptist Church in Letterkenny, Donegal from 1993 to 2005. He came to Hamilton Baptist Church as senior pastor in June 2005.
Graham joined our pastoral team in September 2007.
